Doing this check stops a lower looking number from fooling you.
Tips
- Check the unit word. A paper that says "sq m" or "varg meter" is not in gaj. A square metre figure is always smaller than the gaj figure for the same plot.
- Get the sides. Ask for the length and width in feet, then multiply and divide by 9. It should match the gaj figure.
- Confirm with the record. Before you pay, match the gaj figure in the agreement with the sale deed and the land record.
